We\u2019ve been <a href=\"\/\/www.socialmediaexp.wpengine.com\/givingtuesday\/\" target=\"_blank\">featuring nonprofits<\/a> and sharing tips.<\/p>\n<p>In this final post of 2013, I asked a few people for their tips on keeping generosity alive in 2014. These are real people with really practical ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my two favorite.<\/p>\n<h2>Easy ways to keep Giving Tuesday generosity alive in 2014<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3>Explore payroll deduction<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/socialmediaexp.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Jay-Headshot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-23832\" alt=\"Jay Headshot\" src=\"http:\/\/socialmediaexp.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Jay-Headshot-150x150.jpg\" width=\"90\" height=\"90\" \/><\/a>\u201cIf your employer has a program setup, make charitable contributions through payroll deductions. The advantages of this are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is much easier than having to write a check or enter your credit card online<\/li>\n<li>It makes it easier to consistently donate, once you set it up, you don&#8217;t have to worry about it anymore<\/li>\n<li>It makes your contributions more valuable if your employer has a matching program<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the year, you have a record of exactly how much you gave for tax purposes<\/li>\n<li>You can typically choose from a variety of organizations (both local and national) to give to<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.charitynavigator.org\/index.cfm?bay=content.view&amp;cpid=159#.UrSXJTO9KK0\">Click Here<\/a> for more information on how to give through payroll deductions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jay Kelly, VP-Operations, Social Media Explorer<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Don\u2019t wait for \u201cinfluencers\u201d<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-23787\" alt=\"Marlene Oliveira\" src=\"http:\/\/socialmediaexp.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Marlene.jpeg\" width=\"80\" height=\"80\" \/>\u201cBe generous with your invitations; everyone has something to offer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this social media realm of experts, followers and Klout, it&#8217;s tempting to only extend opportunities and partnerships to certain &#8216;influencers.\u2019 But this year, I&#8217;ve been amazed and humbled by what less &#8216;established&#8217; people offer when invited to contribute.
